Research Manager

Washington D.C. | Full-time | Partially remote


We are hiring Experienced Research Manager in our Research Group! We are seeking someone with 7+ years of experience in the research field. 

Vault Consulting is growing! We are looking for a manager (or above) to join our diverse and comprehensive research practice. The right candidate will have an established track record of managing projects from inception / proposal to presentation of insights with a focus on the unique needs of associations and non-profits. You will also have a passion for growing existing client relationships and establishing new partners. The types of projects you work on will be matched to your skillset and interests and could include: 

  • Industry market share and trend reports 
  • Benchmarking projects 
  • Qualitative research  
  • Opinion based surveys 
  • Advanced data analytics using Python, and BI dashboards and other tools

The Skillset  

A Vault Consulting research manager typically has 7+ years of experience in a research or analytical position, with 3+ years in a managerial position leading project teams and participating in business development.  

Education is typically a bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, statistics, marketing or other business-related field. Coursework or experience in advanced analytics, data science or computer science is a plus. Any advanced degrees are a plus but not a requirement.  

You should come in with an eagerness to learn and grow in the research profession, with passion, a commitment to excellence, and the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.  

The senior research manager skillset includes elements of the following: (mixture of skills in priority order) 

  • Experience managing and growing client relationships working leading project teams and directly with clients 
  • Experience leading internal teams and/or external vendors 
  • Experience with business development and interest in growing business 
  • A track record of hitting deliverable timelines and working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Advanced Excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables, macros) 
  • Familiarity with Qualtrics or similar surveying software  
  • Interest or experience in relational databases or programming (especially Python) is a plus 
  • Interest or experience with business intelligence platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau or Qlik is a plus

We are open to consideration to those applicants who are not in the immediate D.C. area. So do not let location get in the way of applying. However, there would be potential expectations to come to our D.C. (Tyson's) Headquarters for occasional meetings and training/events.
